-how someone i know and like can date such an objectively shitty person

imagine wanting to forget that a person existed so badly that when you hear his/her voice in the next room it makes you shake.

and he/she knows you're there so he/she takes advantage and says things loudly that are meant to indirectly push your buttons.

and, even though his/her attempts at manipulating you aren't so cunning, they still work and you can no longer concentrate, which makes you angry.

and knowing that his/her intentions were to make you angry makes you even angrier.

that is the thing about hating someone.
