via blackbird. that site makes me wish i was rich or a boy or a rich boy. i love a lot of the manbags they carry and would buy one if i could. anyway, i really want this hot black dude (hi, zuhair!) but only because i want him to gift me the sunglasses he's modeling.


i can't tell if these are cute or not... but i've been eyeing theme since i got my other pair of sunjuns. they're the ankle-strapped-ish version and they're currently on sale for $16.10 at this site. i'm getting tired of looking for affordable summer sandals. should i buy these?

onto material things

i'm dying to have this helmut lang trench that i found on notcouture yesterday. i've been looking for "the one" for about a year. the perfect trench coat. the back on this helmut lang one is what makes me so crazy for it. and it's on sale. from $715 to... $501.


i wish i wishiswiishshshswishshshhshsh i could do it.

instead, i am going to try my luck at a pair of frye boots. i've been wanting brown lace-up boots (ask my sister) and these are sooooo so good. but they were $478 at full price. so i hope the size and color work out because i'm excited about finding them for $230. which is still very expensive... and probably the most i've spent on one clothing item. but i trust frye.


several other items that i have been holding out for:

-olive, canvas parka or parka-inspired coat; extra points for fishtails (inspired by stephanie/the science of sleep, British mod)
-plain, nude-colored slip (inspired by gwyneth/margot tenenbaum)
-leather handbag (duh)
-airy (open-toed?), flat shoes or sandals

these are what i consider to be classic items and, for the perfect find, i am willing to wait years. i'm also willing to wait until i can spend $$ for top quality.

the wait is good. esp. for things like my dream leather handbag, which would probably cost thousands of dollars. i would feel ridiculous to own one as a student. unlike angela.

no movie. instead, went out for a bit and bought a new pair of levi's. 501 for women... the "501 for women" is news to me. i've wanted 501s for years now but the regular ones hang very poorly.

i am into straight leg medium rise dark denim right now. i still like skinny, too, but what i do not like and what i consider now to be very late '90s circa baby doll t-shirts and bell bottoms is low low rise.

tomorrow night i get my hair cut short. i hope to not look too much like a man. especially in my straight leg medium rise dark denim. i feel like when i have short hair i will be forced to wear makeup and skirts all the time as to not confuse zuhairs.
