I've completely lost touch with this here bloggue after I moved all my RSS feeds to Google Reader. I currently subscribe to 123 blogs on that thing. Ridiculous!!!!!

Predictably and disappointingly, my respective past and forever <3ers Jeff Kent and Christian Bale are apparently bad peoples!

I attribute Christian Bale's recent (real accent) trip-up to being 1) crazy and 2) like all Hollywood-status actors--crazy. He's just a crazy person-type actor who went berserk on set. It happened to be caught on tape but, really, no big deal. I still <3 you.

Jeff Kent, on the other hand, big mistake! Big mistake donating $15,000 to the Yes-on-Prop 8 campaign! I <3ed you despite yourself, even when I heard you speaking ill of Vin Scully this last season and especially as I watched you fight back retirement tears just two weeks ago. But no more!!!!!

No politics here!

I spent not one minute flipping through photos of Paul Newman in various movie roles before realizing that I've never seen a Paul Newman movie. What failure!

Meanwhile, I have thought up a short list for you.

People who are hot but also not hot:

-Sam Riley. I just finished watching Control (hot). And then I thought about posting a photo of him on here so I searched for one online (not hot). Dude looks like a different person at every angle.

-Cillian Murphy. Same problem as Sam Riley except worse--looks hot sometimes, not at all other times. 28 days later, hot. Batman Begins, not hot.

-Don Draper. I don't remember what his real name is but he is the lead in "Mad Men." Honestly, I wasn't into him at all throughout the first season. Actor or character, I'm not sure which wasn't doing it for me then. "I would not date him!" I said to myself. But I get it now. I get what all the fuss is about!

-Malcolm McDowell. Young (circa late '60s/early '70s) = hot! Old (circa "Heroes" and "Entourage") = not hot! Although I do love my Vater Orlaag.

-Keanu Reeves. Kind of hot when you think about him, but not at all hot when you actually look at him.

-Matt Damon. Really, though.

-James McAvoy. I hate him! But I can't not watch. I think it's his eyes. Stupid jerk!

at the dodgers game on tuesday, not 5 minutes after we found our seats, i spotted bret and jemaine about to sit down 10 or so empty seats to the left of us.

so i watched there will be blood on saturday night... which i really think was incredible in its own particular and almost unparalleled way. anyway, people going crazy-- that is my raison d'etre, right? and oooooooooh did they go crazy in this one.

so heath ledger is dead... i was just starting to like him after i watched the dark knight trailer 8 times. i guess it's shocking because i never thought of him as having a shitty life like i think of, say, britney spears. but evidently he had reason to think so.

i don't know if that came out right but whatever.

i was in OC the other day and got to thinking about a teacher from high school.

she taught, i think, sophomore english and grew to like me even though i never did any of my work because... i don't know why.

(this is what most of my relationships with english teachers have been like.)

anyway, i don't know who asked who but she let me decorate one of two stools she kept at the front of the class.

i took it home to paint and mod podge. i wish i had a picture of it because i remember being very satisfied. and i wonder how it's doing now. last i heard, she took it home because after a while, when students sat on it, stuff would start peeling off.

a year later she let these two annoying cheerleaders decorate the second stool and of course they ruined it with their "foothill pride."

amazing how quickly "harsh times" can kill a chr. bale obsession. and how discomforting it is to hear chr. bale say "homegirl" and mean it.

omg, have you heard daniel day-lewis's real voice?! very suave.

no movie. instead, went out for a bit and bought a new pair of levi's. 501 for women... the "501 for women" is news to me. i've wanted 501s for years now but the regular ones hang very poorly.

i am into straight leg medium rise dark denim right now. i still like skinny, too, but what i do not like and what i consider now to be very late '90s circa baby doll t-shirts and bell bottoms is low low rise.

tomorrow night i get my hair cut short. i hope to not look too much like a man. especially in my straight leg medium rise dark denim. i feel like when i have short hair i will be forced to wear makeup and skirts all the time as to not confuse zuhairs.
